BAINTHOVEN
MUSIC COMPOSER | ARTIST BASED IN LONDON, ENGLAND
BIO
Comfortable scoring to picture or working from a script/idea,
my work gravitates towards:
melancholy, drama, psychological drama/thrillers, and stories with heart
and/or heavy atmosphere.
As a lifelong gamer, I'm also drawn to:
fighting games, roguelikes (Dead Cells, anyone?) RPGs, Sci-Fi, Fantasy,
Horror, and narrative-driven adventures.
With a background as a metalhead (having started playing guitar at age 14)
and lover of acoustic/folk music, I tend to write a lot of melodies on
my acoustic guitar and then either compose around them or convert the
melodies to the appropriate instrument for the piece. A big part of my process
is to record riffs with my phone, which I file into what I call the Riff Vault.
I then go for walks and upload riffs or Work In Progress versions of tracks to
Dropbox/cloud storage to listen and make notes.
While music is my lifeblood and main priority, being an artist at heart,
I also have a passion for video editing/storytelling, motion design/animation,
photography, and digital matte painting (via Adobe Photoshop, with
fundamental art skills developed at Gnomon School of Visual Effects).
A mental health advocate, I also try to raise awareness about
depression/suicide prevention; being personally diagnosed with
Major Depressive Disorder, C-PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder,
and Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as knowing family members and
friends that struggle, this is a cause close to my heart.
If you've followed my treatment journey on Facebook,
you'll know I'm quite open about depression and the benefits of treatment
(having recently completed Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation/TMS therapy,
which has been a game-changer).
These experiences have given me a lot to draw from in my
creative process, providing a unique perspective.
So...whether it's scoring, video editing, or digital asset creation that brings
you here today, I thank you for reading and checking out my work;
if it's a good fit, I look forward to helping bring your project to life,
with the same level of care as if it were my own.

There are tons of high quality free options available,
which have been such a blessing in the early stages of my career.
Here are some recommendations I use everday:
Spitfire Audio LABS and BBC Symphony Orchestra
Orchestral Tools | SINE player | Berlin Free Orchestra
Native Instruments | Kontakt Player (free version)
Project SAM | The Free Orchestra
Strezov Sampling | Freebies (Taiko Thunder X3M is excellent)
I recommend also scouring forums, such as:

(there's a wealth of invaluable knowledge here)
